Karla Fraguada has over 18 years of experience as a corporate executive at international organizations with focus on Program Management, Process Improvement and Strategy. Currently, she is Senior Director at Bacardi Global in Finance and zero-based budgeting projects.

 

Karla holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico. Before her current role, she served as Deputy Executive Director at Puerto Rico’s Central Office of Recovery and Reconstruction where she oversaw the island’s hurricane recovery efforts. She started her career at Kraft Foods in New York and spent 2 years in Mexico City with the company. Later, she held leadership positions at Pepperidge Farm and Unilever in the Tristate area. In 2012, she earned a Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma. Karla also holds a US patent. Before returning to Puerto Rico in 2018, she spent 5 years at Bacardi, in Miami, holding several positions including Strategy Director and Chief of Staff at the Office of the President of Bacardi North America.

 

Throughout her career, Karla has been an active advocate of women advancement, culture and childhood wellness and education. She currently serves as board member at Make-a-Wish Puerto Rico, and The Lynne Mitchell Foundation, an organization promoting higher education in rural Jamaica. For 12 years, Karla has been involved with Habitat for Humanity Global Village completing builds in Haiti, India, Guyana, and Nicaragua. She is an angel investor as well as a mentor for women.
